How to Play SPEED WORDZ 

Welcome to Speed Wordz — the fast-paced, high-energy word game where speed, vocabulary, and strategy collide. Build words, race the clock, outscore your opponent, and climb the rankings.

Unlike traditional word games, every second matters in Speed Wordz.

1. INTRO TO SPEED WORDZ
————————————————–

Speed Wordz is played on a 15×15 board using letter tiles with point values.

Game Modes:

• Speed Mode = 60 seconds per turn
• Mad Mode = 30 seconds per turn

You can play:

• PvP (Player vs Player)
• Practice vs Speedie AI

The goal is simple:

Create words, score points, and finish with the highest total.

2. TILE PLACEMENT
————————————————–

To make a move:

1. Drag tiles from your rack onto the board
2. Connect your word to existing tiles
3. All words formed must be valid dictionary words
4. Press SUBMIT before time expires

First move:
• Must cover the center starting square

Future moves:
• Must connect to existing letters already on the board

You may build:

• Across
• Down
• Extend existing words
• Use existing board letters to create new words

3. BLANK TILES
————————————————–

Blank tiles are wild cards.

When played, you choose the letter the blank tile will represent.

IMPORTANT:

In Speed Wordz, blank tiles are awarded the point value of the tile you selected.

Example:

If your blank becomes:
• E = 1 point
• K = 6 points
• Q = 10 points

Use blanks wisely — they can create huge scoring plays.

4. BONUS & MULTIPLIER SPOTS
————————————————–

Colored squares on the board award bonuses.

DL = Double Letter
Doubles the tile placed there

TL = Triple Letter
Triples the tile placed there

DW = Double Word
Doubles the total word score

TW = Triple Word
Triples the total word score

Important:

• Bonuses apply only when the tile is first placed
• Existing letters already on the board do not reuse bonuses
• Multiple bonuses can stack in one move

Big combos can swing games instantly.

5. BAM BONUS
————————————————–

Use all 7 tiles from your rack in one turn and score a:

BAM!

Reward:

• +50 point bonus
• +1 extra pass (PvP)

BAM plays are game changers.

6. PASSING
————————————————–

You may pass your turn instead of playing.

PvP passing can be highly strategic.

Use passing when:

• You want better board position later
• You want opponent to open premium squares
• You are protecting a lead
• You need to avoid a risky play

Each player begins with a limited number of passes.

Bonus Rule:

A BAM awards +1 extra pass.

Smart passing wins close games.

7. SWAPPING TILES
————————————————–

If tiles remain in the bag, you may swap unwanted tiles.

Swapping:

• Ends your turn
• Returns selected tiles to the bag
• Draws new random tiles

Use swaps when:

• Rack is vowel heavy
• Rack is consonant heavy
• No strong plays exist
• You need balance quickly

8. TIMER RULES
————————————————–

Every turn has a live countdown clock.

Speed Mode:
• 60 seconds

Mad Mode:
• 30 seconds

If time expires:

Speed Mode Penalty:
• -5 points

Mad Mode Penalty:
• -2 points

If score is below the penalty:
• Score will not drop below zero

9. 3 STRIKES AND YOU’RE OUT
————————————————–

If a player times out 3 consecutive turns:

• Automatic loss
• Opponent wins immediately

This prevents stalling and rewards active play.

10. END GAME
————————————————–

The game ends when:

• Tile bag is empty and passing/end rules are met
• A player concedes
• 3 strikes timeout rule activates

Highest score wins.

11. DAILY WORD HUNT
————————————————–

Each day a hidden bonus word appears in the lobby.

If you solve it and successfully play that word in a match:

• Earn bonus rating points
• Mark it complete for the day

Come back daily for new challenges.

12. RANKINGS & RATING

Win games to gain rating points.

Lose games and rating may decrease.

Strong opponents = bigger gains.

Leaderboard climbing rewards consistency.
