THE STORY BEHIND SPEED WORDZ
Born From a Love of Word Games
Speed Wordz was created for word-game players who love the strategy of building words but don't love waiting hours—or even days—for the next move. It's a faster take on the classic word-game experience, built around quick thinking, vocabulary and playing against the clock.
Born From Scrabble
A lifelong love of Scrabble and word games inspired the idea behind Speed Wordz.
Built for Speed
No waiting hours or days for the next move. The countdown clock keeps every game moving.
A Workout for Your Brain
Think quickly, recall words, build vocabulary and make strategic decisions—all against the clock.
Speed Wordz was born from my love of Scrabble and word games. After years of playing different Scrabble-style games—some good, some bad, and some downright frustrating—I kept feeling like something was missing.
The biggest problem was the waiting. In many online word games, you could wait hours or even days for another player to make a move. I wanted something different: a word game that kept you thinking, kept you engaged, and kept the game moving.
That’s where the idea for Speed Wordz began. By adding a countdown timer, every turn becomes a challenge to think fast, trust your vocabulary, and make the best word you can before time runs out. Instead of relying on online word helpers, the challenge is to rely on the words you’ve learned and what you can come up with under pressure.
Along the way, I discovered another benefit—I felt like I was giving my brain a workout. Quick thinking, word recall, vocabulary, strategy and decision-making all come together every time the clock starts ticking.
I wanted to share that experience with word-game lovers everywhere. Welcome to Speed Wordz. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I do!
