Speed Mode gives you 60 seconds per turn to study the board, evaluate your letter rack, build your word, and make your move. It delivers the signature fast-paced Speed Wordz experience while still giving players enough time to think strategically and search for higher-scoring opportunities.
Every second matters. Use your time to identify open spaces on the board, connect new words to existing plays, take advantage of Double Letter, Triple Letter, Double Word, and Triple Word bonus spaces, and decide whether a bigger score is worth the extra time.
The 60-second clock creates a balance between speed and strategy. You have time to consider your options—but not enough time to overthink every possibility.

Mad Mode — No Time to Waste.
Mad Mode turns up the pressure with just 30 seconds per turn. You have half the time of Speed Mode to scan the board, evaluate your letters, find a playable word, and lock in your move. There is little room for hesitation—quick recognition and decisive play are the keys to staying competitive.
With the clock constantly working against you, Mad Mode challenges you to trust your instincts. Spot familiar letter combinations, identify open scoring opportunities, take advantage of bonus spaces, and decide quickly whether to play the word you see or risk precious seconds searching for something better.
The 30-second format creates faster matches and a completely different style of competition. A strong vocabulary helps, but being able to recognize possibilities quickly can be just as important. One missed opportunity or a few wasted seconds can change the momentum of the game.
